Baby Reindeer and Dinosaur lead Bafta Scotland nominations

Baby Reindeer – Gadd’s account of being stalked by a woman for several years and being sexually abused by a male TV industry figure – has been one of the most talked about shows of the year.

However, its claim to be “a true story” has made it controversial, and the real-life woman who allegedly inspired the Martha character is currently suing Netflix for defamation, negligence and privacy violations.

Despite the controversy, it took the Emmy Awards in the US by storm last month, winning four trophies at the ceremony in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, Dinosaur has been a hit for Storrie in her first lead acting role.

Storrie, who has autism, said the role enabled her to “unmask” in real life.

She said the programme differed from other shows featuring an autistic lead character because “it’s not all doom and gloom”.
