Asa Tribe: England Lions and Jersey batter signs new Glamorgan contract

After arriving to study at Cardiff University from the Channel Islands, Tribe signed for Glamorgan as a 19-year-old in 2023.

He made his senior Glamorgan debut in 2024, making two County Championship half-centuries and featuring in the side which won the One Day Cup.

It was 2025 that proved his breakthrough year as he helped Glamorgan win County Championship Division Two and excelled for Jersey.

Tribe was not selected for the first three Championship matches this year but forced his way into the side thanks to his high scores in the second XI.

Tribe established himself in all three formats and registered his first double century against Northamptonshire in September with an unbeaten 206.

That landmark innings came after two unbeaten centuries in Glamorgan’s last two games of this year’s One Day Cup, plus innings of 175 and 53 not out for Jersey in between county commitments.

That run saw Tribe hit four centuries in six games for the Welsh side and Jersey in the ICC Challenge League.
