Arsenal: Which English top-flight side has the most consecutive clean sheets?

Arsenal have the most clean sheets so far this season, across all competitions.

The club has kept a record-equalling eight clean sheets in a row between October-November, their first run of that length in 122 years.

They did not concede a goal across their Premier League, Champions League and League Cup fixtures in that time.

The record is a joint-longest run of wins without conceding by an English top-flight side, also held by Preston North End between January-September 1889 and Liverpool between January-February 1920.

Arsenal last held the record in 1903 between April to October of that year.

Should they beat Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday, 8 November, Arsenal will set a new club and English record of nine clean sheets in a row.

The Gunners also have 10 wins in a row, one away from 11 wins achieved under Unai Emery between August-October 2018.

Manchester United hold the record for most consecutive Premier League-only clean sheets, with a run of 14 during the 2008-09 season.

Liverpool are the record-holders for clean sheets in the Premier League era across all competitions, playing 11 consecutive games without conceding under Rafael Benítez in 2005.
