Ambulance gets stuck on Melton railway crossing

This is the moment maintenance workers had to push an ambulance over a railway crossing after it got stuck while responding to an emergency in Suffolk.

The East of England Ambulance Service vehicle became stranded on the Melton level crossing, which is currently closed to drivers while works are carried out, on Sunday.

Network Rail had assured residents that emergency services vehicles would still be permitted access but on this occasion the vehicle needed a “little extra push”.

Despite the short delay, the ambulance managed to “reach the patient well within our target response time”, the ambulance service said.
