Amateurs live out theatre dreams in Les Mis Bristol production

Almost 150 amateurs have been given the chance to live their dream of starring in a theatre classic.

They are part of a community production of Les Misérables, which is being staged at the Bristol Hippodrome to celebrate the musical’s 40th anniversary.

Only 11 productions of Les Misérables: Let The People Sing have been given special permission by the show’s producers, and Bristol was chosen as one.

Nearly 1,000 people across the west and south west auditioned for the shows, and 142 got the roles.
