An accident investigation has been launched after two railway workers were hit by a wagon near Port Glasgow station.
The wagon was being moved by a rail-mounted crane that was being used to renew of a section of track in Inverclyde on 15 March.
One of the men became trapped between the wagon and a track panel and had to be treated in hospital after being freed by the emergency services.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch (RAIB) said it would look into a number of areas including the actions of the staff and how the crane was being operated.
The investigation will also cover training and management of staff and the risk controls in place at the time.
The RAIB will publish its findings and recommendations at the end of the investigation.
