Aberdeen: Jimmy Thelin under pressure as fans react to dismal form

Don Morrison: Too much chopping and changing from the manager in my opinion. We won 3-0 against Elgin yet he made five changes. Duk and Morris, who both scored last week, were on the bench. Palaversa, who is one of our most creative midfielders, was also on the bench. He keeps persevering with Shinnie and Nilsen, both similar types. Not good enough!

Bob Marshall: I have three words to describe Aberdeen’s decline since their successful early season run ended. Not. Good. Enough. If this continues for another five or six games, serious questions need to be asked of the new manager’s approach. Excuses of a work in progress can only go on for so long before it becomes unacceptable.

Gordon B: Awful. No heart, no passion and no skill. Mish-mash of players not performing and a manager with a lack of experience in anything but one system that has now been counteracted by every team in the league. Time to either adapt or die. Thelin has a month at most to sort it out.

Graham Murray: Thelin does not understand his players’ capabilities or Scottish football. He has had time and brought in one or two decent players, but relying on old timers like Shinnie and Nilsen is costing us. A proven striker is a must. None of our strikers even get pass marks. Thelin needs to understand his players’ lack of technical ability FAST.

Anonymous: All Scottish managers have worked out how to combat Jimmy Thelin’s gameplan and formation. While I don’t believe he will change, he drastically needs to adopt a 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 set-up. Peter Leven stopped the rot last year by giving the players a system they were comfortable with. The same needs to be done again!

John Watt: Jimmy Thelin has to make some big decisions – and quick. Rubezic, Shinnie and Clarkson are all on long contracts and have offered nothing for several months now. Very difficult situation for him, but these three have seen off Goodwin and Robson already and he needs to offload them if he is not going to be next.

Anonymous: Ordinarily this run would lead to dismissal. However, the board are invested and they won’t fire Thelin. However, if these results continue, Thelin himself could decide to walk. The Swedish league begins in March. He may be realising that a new philosophy just isn’t going to work. Looking ahead, you cannot see where Aberdeen can get any wins.
