Aberdeen care home residents not showered or helped to toilet

The Care Inspectorate report raised concerns about how Fairview House supports the wellbeing of the 99 residents.

One relative told the inspectors that despite staff saying residents were to be showered twice weekly, this did “not always happen”.

Other weaknesses were identified regarding the management of medication and ensuring medicine was given as prescribed.

A spokeswoman for Barchester Healthcare said: “We are developing a detailed action plan in response to the findings of the Care Inspectorate’s report.

“We are committed to working alongside the Care Inspectorate to address all concerns, and are confident that we will make swift progress to ensure that we exceed the improvement requirements.”
