Police arrest men arrested on suspicion of modern day slavery

Two men have been arrested in Kent on suspicion of modern day slavery and money laundering offences.

Dorset Police said the 20-year-old from Sussex and a 22-year-old from Buckinghamshire were arrested during an investigation into suspected exploitation, immigration and financial offences.

Officers made the arrests after raiding a business premises in Gillingham, it added.

Three further men were also arrested for immigration offences, the force continued.

Dorset Police said the raid followed intelligence from the community and detailed enquiries.

The force added that the “day of action” had led to a number of individuals being safeguarded.
