Adam Lyth: Yorkshire batter extends contract until end of 2027

Veteran Yorkshire batter Adam Lyth has extended his contract to the end of the 2027 season.

The 38-year-old opener passed 15,000 first-class runs last season and his new deal will take him beyond his 40th birthday.

Lyth, who made seven Test appearances for England in 2015, made his debut for Yorkshire in September 2006.

“Yorkshire is my home and there’s nowhere else I would want to spend my career playing cricket,” he told the club website., external

“The club is continuing to build something special, and I want to be on hand to keep steering our youngsters through Division One.

“We finished so strongly last season and for me personally, it was another pleasing year.”
