Armed police deployed after man shot in Huddersfield street

The incident happened on Luck Lane, in Huddersfield, on Tuesday evening

A man has suffered “life-changing” injuries after being shot in the leg in what police have described as a “targeted attack”.

West Yorkshire Police said armed officers were called to Luck Lane, in the Paddock area of Huddersfield, shortly before 19:30 GMT on Tuesday.

A force spokesperson said a dark-coloured vehicle was reported to have driven away from the scene, with the victim taken to hospital for treatment.

Officers investigating the incident have appealed for any witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward.
