Man charged with attempted murder after teenager shot in Sheffield

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a teenage boy was shot in the street in Sheffield.

The 16-year-old was found injured on London Road at about 17:15 GMT on 24 November and was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical condition.

Tanzir Ali, 26, of Glencoe Road, Sheffield, is also charged with possessing a firearm without a certificate.

Sharna Osborne, 23, of Greenhill Road, Sheffield, is charged with assisting an offender, with both due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court later.

The pair were charged on Monday, South Yorkshire Police said, with both remanded into custody.

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, were previously arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder and remain on police bail, the force said.

A 40-year-old man arrested earlier this week on suspicion of assisting an offender has also been released on police bail pending further police investigations.

Patrols are continuing to take place in and around London Road, with people with information or queries urged to speak to officers in the area.
