Tributes to ‘kind’ woman amid murder probe

A mental health counsellor found dead at her home has been described as a “kind-hearted” woman who often put others before herself.

Sarah Forrester, 55, was not breathing when officers arrived at her house on Baydon Close in Moredon, Swindon, at about 19:00 GMT on Friday. She was later declared dead at the scene, Wiltshire Police said.

A 13-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of murder and taken into custody for questioning, but has since been bailed while enquiries continue.

Neighbour Courtney Dodson, 22, said the charity worker was a “really lovely lady”, adding it was “heartbreaking to think she’s lost her life so young”.

“I feel a bit shocked really, I’ve not really processed it yet,” she told the BBC.

Wiltshire Police was initially called to a disturbance at the property. Detectives have said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with Ms Forrester’s death.

Ms Forrester worked as a counsellor at The Kelly Foundation, a Swindon charity which supports individuals with severe anxiety, depression and other mental health issues.

Neighbour Lia Hedges, 19, said: “She was really kind-hearted, she had a dynamic personality and was a very genuine person.

“I still feel confused on how to navigate around life, knowing that it happened so close by. It’s all pretty sombre.”

Jayden, 15, had known her since she moved into the area seven years ago, and described her as a “well known” character in the neighbourhood.

“She was a really nice lady, she would put everyone else before herself,” he said.

“She would speak to everyone when she went out. I was really shocked to be honest.”
