Cardiff City goalkeeper Matt Turner has extended his contract to remain with the League One club until at least the summer of 2028.
The 23-year-old joined the Bluebirds as an academy player in 2021, spending time in the under-21 side before gaining experience in the senior setup over the past two seasons.
Cardiff manager Brian Barry-Murphy gave Turner his first-team debut in this season’s League One opener against Peterborough United in August, and he has featured on four occasions in all competitions so far this campaign.
“I’m really delighted,” Carmarthenshire-born Turner told the club. “I’m glad it’s sorted now and hopefully we can kick on with the season.
“It’s been great, all the boys are buying into what Brian wants and the performances on the pitch are a massive improvement from what’s been in previous years.
“What Brian has asked of me, I’ve tried to implement as best as I can in the performances I’ve had, and I’m just glad with the game time and being able to express myself.”
Cardiff travel to Blackpool on Saturday (15:00 GMT) third in the table and looking for a result to put them back into the automatic promotion places.
Meanwhile, the Bluebirds have three fixture changes in the new year that have been moved to 12:30 GMT kick-offs, which are the trip to Bradford City on Saturday, 17 January, the home game against Stockport County on Saturday, 24 January and the game at Plymouth Argyle on Saturday, 21 February.
