Llanelli woman recounts moment bonfire exploded in her face

A woman severely burned when a garden bonfire exploded “like a bomb” in her face has spoken of the experience.

Mum Siân Morgan from Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, suffered burns to her body and lost part of her ear after the accident in March.

The 44-year-old said she rolled around the floor as her husband patted the flames as they engulfed her.

“It just went up like a bomb really, it just went up in my face,” Ms Morgan said.

In the past she and her family had marked Guy Fawkes Night with a celebration at home.

“We’d never do it again after this,” she said.
