A 19-year-old woman seriously injured in a crossbow attack in Leeds has been discharged from hospital.

The attack, involving a crossbow and a firearm, happened on Otley Road in the Headingley area of the city on Saturday afternoon, with two women taken to hospital.

A 31-year-old woman was discharged on Sunday, with the younger woman undergoing surgery for “life-threatening injuries”.

Suspect Owen Lawrence, 38, who wrote a hate-filled online manifesto hours before the assault, was taken to hospital for a self-inflicted wound and later died.

Counter Terrorism Policing North East said it believed the suspect, from Headingley, was acting on his own, with police not currently seeking anyone else.
