The Red Arrows have dazzled crowds in Rome after performing a flypast alongside their Italian counterparts, the Frecce Tricolori.

The squadron, based at RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire, appeared on Tuesday to celebrate a four-day state visit by King Charles and Queen Camilla.

In a symbolic show of unity, the pilots released smoke in the colours of both countries over the capital.

The Red Arrows, whose official name is the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, are due to appear at the VE Day 80 celebrations in London on 5 May.
