Man charged over deaths of three bikers in Borders crash

A 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged after three people died in a motorbike crash in the Scottish Borders last year.

Police were called to the scene on the A6088 between Bonchester Bridge and Carter Bar at about 14:30 on 28 July.

Andrew Lartey, 30, and his pillion passenger Georgia Tate, 23, both from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, died in the incident. The rider of a second motorbike, Jason Gibbon, 37, from Northumberland, also died.

The 32-year-old man was charged in connection with causing death by dangerous driving and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
