Man, 75, killed and woman injured in Borders crash

A 75-year-old man has died and a woman has been taken to hospital after a crash in the Scottish Borders.

A Suzuki Ignis and a Vauxhall Grandland crashed on the A7, near the junction with Drover Road, north of Hawick, at about 16:35 on Sunday.

Police Scotland said the man driving the Suzuki was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 52-year-old woman driving the Vauxhall was taken to Borders General Hospital where her condition was described as serious but stable.
