Luke Williams: Swansea City head coach ‘annoyed’ after Portsmouth draw

Luke Williams said he was “annoyed” with Swansea City’s approach after seeing his side come from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Portsmouth.

Williams’ team were undone by Portsmouth’s high press as Matt Ritchie and Josh Murphy gave the Championship’s bottom club a 2-0 lead at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Connor Ogilvie’s own goal reduced the deficit just before the break, with Liam Cullen levelling early in the second half before dominant Swansea missed a raft of chances to seal a comeback win.

Despite the fact that Swansea avoided defeat after going behind for the first time this season, Williams was unhappy with the failure to take all three points.

“I am annoyed because we didn’t start the game correctly,” the Swansea head coach said.

“If we’d played well for 90 minutes, but we hit the woodwork and the keeper made a save and there had been a block, I’d be frustrated. But I am annoyed more than frustrated.

“But I am annoyed that we gave ourselves a mountain to climb because we didn’t approach the game correctly.”
