Homes evacuated after ‘chemical smell’ noticed in flat

Residents were evacuated from their homes in Glasgow after a chemical smell was noticed in the area.

Emergency services were called to Leven Street around 21:00 on Thursday following a report of the smell in a block of flats.

A number of people in surrounding properties were evacuated as a precaution.

The building was confirmed to be safe a short time later and residents were then allowed back into their homes.
