A 46-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital following a report of a serious assault.
South Wales Police said the incident is believed to have happened in Neath town centre some time between Friday night and the early hours of Saturday.
The force said the man was in a “critical but stable condition”.
It has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
