A nationwide outbreak of salmonella linked to Live It Up Super Greens diet supplement powder has sickened 45 people, federal authorities said Wednesday.

Twelve of the 45 people were hospitalized for their illnesses, but no one has died in the outbreak, the Centers for Disease Control said in a statement.

Live It Up, the brand behind the contaminated powder, issued a recall on Jan. 13, the Food and Drug Administration said. The recall affects Live It Up Super Greens packs with expiration dates from August 2026 to January 2028, according to the FDA. It includes original and wild berry flavors.

The super greens supplements were distributed nationwide, and salmonella-related illnesses were reported in 21 states, including New York, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Maine and Vermont.

However, the illnesses were more concentrated in the Midwest. Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Ohio and Kentucky all reported at least three cases, according to the FDA. All the illnesses were recorded between Aug. 22 and Dec. 30, 2025.

Anyone in possession of the recalled powder should throw it out or return it to the place of purchase, the CDC said. Purchasers are also advised to look for salmonella symptoms, which include extreme diarrhea, vomiting and dehydration.

The Live It Up recall is the second super greens diet supplement powder recall in recent months. In October, Member’s Mark supplements sold at Sam’s Club were also recalled due to a salmonella outbreak that sickened 11 people, sending three to the hospital.
