28 passengers killed in plane crash at South Korea airport | World News


At least 28 passengers have been killed in a plane crash at an airport in South Korea, local media reports.

Passengers are being rescued from the tail of the plane which crashed at Muan Airport after veering off the runway.

The plane was carrying 175 passengers and six crew when it attempted to land.

Firefighters are attempting to rescue 23 passengers who were in the tail section, officials say.

The plane caught fire after its landing gear malfunctioned, they added.

The blaze has now been put out by firefighters.

The Jeju Air flight was flying back from Thailand at the time of the crash.
