The 21st anniversary Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival is due to open later.

An estimated 20,000 people are expected to attend the Highlands’ biggest music event over three days.

Headliners include the bands Supergrass, Texas, and singer-songwriter CMAT, who appeared at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.

Thursday’s acts include Natasha Bedingfield, The Pigeon Detectives and former Beautiful South frontman Paul Heaton, who will be performing with Scottish singer Rianne Downey.

Roads around Inverness are expected to be busy.

Traffic often queues up close to the Belladrum Estate on the opening day as campers and other festival-goers arrive.

Highland Council has information on temporary speed limits, while Belladrum’s organisers have provided details on shuttle buses, campsites and parking.

Bella started out as a small one-day event with tickets for just 2,000 people.

The festival in 2024 had a record attendance of 25,000 people.

BBC Alba will be providing live coverage and iPlayer broadcasts across the weekend.

The shows can be watched live or on demand from Thursday on Belladrum on BBC Alba.
