Two boys caught riding e-scooters the wrong way on M8 motorway slip road

Two 12-year-old boys have been charged after being caught riding e-scooters the wrong way on a slip road of the M8 motorway.

Police said the boys, who were wearing balaclavas, were spotted by patrol officers at the Hillington junction in Glasgow on Tuesday.

Officers stopped the pair, took them home and charged them with road traffic offences. Both e-scooters were seized.

One of the boys’ parents was also charged with offences under the Road Traffic Act.
