Mae tua biliwn o litrau o ddŵr wedi cael eu cyflenwi bob dydd yn ystod yr wythnos ddiwethaf – tua 20% yn fwy na’r hyn sy’n cael ei ddisgwyl fel arfer ar yr adeg yma o’r flwyddyn, yn ôl Dŵr Cymru.
Mae’r galw am ddŵr wedi parhau i fod yn eithriadol o uchel yn ystod y dydd a’r nos ers sawl wythnos bellach.
Er bod Dŵr Cymru yn cydnabod bod adnoddau dŵr a lefelau cronfeydd dŵr yn parhau’n dda ar hyn o bryd, maen nhw’n dweud mai’r her yw “cynhyrchu, trin, storio a chludo digon o ddŵr yfed drwy’r rhwydwaith yn ddigon cyflym i ddiwallu’r lefel eithriadol yma o alw”.
Ychwanegodd y cwmni: “Oni bai bod y galw yn lleihau’n sylweddol dros yr ychydig ddyddiau nesaf, mae’n debyg na fydd gan Ddŵr Cymru unrhyw ddewis ond cyflwyno cyfyngiadau dros dro ar bibellau dŵr y penwythnos hwn.”
