Duan Jansen: Gloucestershire re-sign seamer for T20 Blast finale

Gloucestershire have brought back South African pace bowler Duan Jansen for the remainder of their T20 Blast campaign after Liam Scott suffered an injury.

Left-armer Jansen, 26, took 16 wickets earlier in the competition when he played in six of the team’s group matches.

He took a wicket every 8.25 balls across his 22 overs in the group stage with his best figures being 4-25 against Warwickshire Bears at Bristol in May.

Jansen is in the squad for Wednesday’s quarter-final with Northamptonshire and will also be available for Saturday’s Finals Day should Gloucestershire – the trophy winners in 2024 – progress.

Jansen initially joined the club in May as cover for Scott, who suffered a back injury during the 50-run defeat by Glamorgan on Sunday.

The club have confirmed that he will now return to Australia after playing the past six T20 Blast matches, taking six wickets during his time at Bristol.
