Premier League newcomers Hull City have made goalkeeper Jack Butland their first signing of the summer.

The 33-year-old has signed from Rangers for an undisclosed fee on a two-year contract, with the option of an additional 12 months, as Sergej Jakirovic begins strengthening his squad for the Tigers’ return to the top flight following a nine-year absence.

The nine-time England international played every minute of Rangers’ 2025-26 Scottish Premiership campaign, making 55 appearances in all competitions, and leaves Ibrox after three seasons and 157 matches.

He won the Scottish League Cup during his first season with Rangers and was named both the club’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year.

Before moving to Scotland, Butland spent seven years at Stoke City, making 77 Premier League appearances, and also featured in the top flight for Crystal Palace.
