Second boy, 15, charged with murder over Battersea stabbing

A second teenage boy has been charged with murder after a 17-year-old was stabbed to death in south-west London.

Jamal Coombes, 17, was found fatally wounded after emergency services were called to Glycena Road in Battersea at around 04:20 BST on Saturday.

The 15-year-old from Wandsworth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, will appear at Ealing Magistrates Court later charged with murder and possession of a bladed article, the Metropolitan Police said.

A total of four young people have been arrested in connection with Coombes’ death.

A 14-year-old boy from Wandsworth was arrested on Sunday, 21 June. He appeared at Highbury Corner Youth Court on Monday charged with murder and possession of a bladed article.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey on 25 June.

A boy and a girl, both aged 15, who were arrested on suspicion of murder on 20 June, have been released on bail while enquiries continue.
