Streeting’s resigned – what now?

Wes Streeting has resigned as health secretary, amid speculation that he could launch a Labour leadership bid.

In a letter to the prime minister, he says: “where we need vision, we have a vacuum”.

Streeting said he has “lost confidence” in Sir Keir Starmer’s leadership, but has not yet triggered a leadership challenge.
