Huddersfield Giants have signed former Warrington Wolves centre Connor Wrench, seven months after he retired from the sport.

Wrench, 24, quit the game in August two days after playing for the Wire in a defeat at Huddersfield.

He suffered anterior cruciate ligament injuries in both 2022 and 2024 and said he had been “contemplating retiring for a while” when he announced his decision.

His deal with the Giants, who have lost their first three Super League games this season, runs through to the end of 2028.

“Connor was really keen to get back into the sport and there was a few offers on the table for him, soon as we found out he was available we got in contact straight away and got the deal wrapped up,” head coach Luke Robinson told the club website., external

“His best years are ahead of him, he’s a young English centre who we’re really excited to have in and around the group.”

The Giants have said Wrench could make his debut in their Challenge Cup game against Hull KR on Saturday, 14 March.
