Scotland will kick-off their Nations League campaign away to Slovenia on 26 September after Uefa confirmed the fixture list for the competition.

The national team will play their six group games in a short three-month window, concluding with a trip to take on Switzerland on 16 November.

The fixtures have been announced after the Scots were drawn with the Swiss, Slovenians and North Macedonia on Thursday.

Scotland were demoted from League A after a play-off defeat by Greece last year and return to the second tier for this year’s edition of the competition.

Speaking after the draw, head coach Steve Clarke said: “The teams are evenly matched.

“It’s been a good competition for us.

“This competition helped us qualify for Euro 2020 so we know the benefits. We expect three difficult matches.”
