Rangers receive suspended ticket reduction penalty for pyro use

The SPFL have issued a suspended reduction of 50 tickets on Rangers for future away matches following the use of pyrotechnics from fans at Fir Park.

The governing body reached the decision following an investigation into a “large-scale, organised and illegal pyrotechnics display” during Rangers 1-1 draw against Motherwell on 2 August.

The Ibrox club were found to have breached SPFL rule H37 for failing to ensure that their supporters did not engage in “unacceptable conduct”.

The SPFL also said Rangers “failed to identify or take proportionate disciplinary measures against the supporters responsible”.

The suspended reduction of away tickets will be triggered if Rangers break the same rule again on, or before, 30 June 2026.
