An 81-year-old man has died after being hit by a bus in Edinburgh

A man has died almost a week after being struck by a bus in Edinburgh.

The 81-year-old was seriously injured in the incident at the junction of Annandale Street and Haddington Place, near Elm Row, at about 01:20 on 28 September.

Police Scotland confirmed he died in hospital on Saturday.

They said they were appealing for information to “establish the full circumstances” surrounding his death.

Sgt Louise Birrell said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man who died and they have asked for privacy.”
