One taken to hospital after car and motorbike crash

One person has been taken to hospital following a collision between a motorbike and a car near Newtownards, County Down, the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) has said.

The crash happened on the Portaferry Road on Sunday afternoon.

It was reported to the NIAS at 13:35 BST.

Police have said the Portaferry Road is currently closed from the junction of the Cunningburn Road to the junction of the Old Shore Road.

Two ambulances, an air ambulance, and three fire engines attended the incident.

The patient was taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital following initial treatment at the scene.
