A motorcyclist who led police on a pursuit at more than 130mph (210km/h) while uninsured and unlicensed has been sentenced.
The 33-year-old sped past officers on a blue Suzuki motorbike at the Spittals Interchange, Huntingdon, at about 20:30 BST on 29 July heading to the A1 in Cambridgeshire.
Although police lost sight of him, they later traced him to an industrial unit in Peterborough, from where he raced off, this time in a BMW car.
At Peterborough Magistrates’ Court, the motorcyclist admitted charges including dangerous driving and failing to stop, and was sentenced to 44 weeks in jail, suspended for 18 months.
He also pleaded guilty to possessing a false identity document, two counts of driving with no third party insurance and two counts of driving otherwise in accordance with a licence.
He was banned from driving for two years, ordered to take an extended re-test and do 240 hours of unpaid work.
PC Sorrin Ruffell said the motorcyclist “showed no regard for his own safety or the safety of others by driving incredibly dangerously”.
