Emergency services are searching for a man who fell from a boat at Draycote Water reservoir

Emergency services are searching for a man who has fallen from a boat into a reservoir in Warwickshire.

The incident happened at Draycote Water near Rugby on Thursday afternoon, Warwickshire Police said.

The force said the reservoir was currently shut to the public as teams searched for the man, whose family are being supported by specialist officers.

It also urged the public not to approach the area, “as doing so could distract searchers”.

Draycote Water is a 240-hectare reservoir and country park, drawing its water from the River Leam which then supplies drinking water to Rugby and Coventry.

Watersports such as sailing and windsurfing are popular at the site, and it also attracts anglers.
