A disqualified driver who ignored traffic lights and went the wrong way around roundabouts while being pursued by police has been jailed.

Officers said they were called when Jay Woodgate failed to stop after crashing his BMW into a parked car on Broadway, Peterborough, on 15 December.

He sped away, driving at almost double the 30mph speed limit, and was found hiding in undergrowth after he crashed his car again.

The 28-year-old, of Eastfield Road, admitted dangerous driving and driving while disqualified.
