Pedestrian dies after being hit by car on A96 near Colpy

The incident happened on Friday morning

A pedestrian has died after being struck by a car on the A96 in Aberdeenshire.

Emergency services – including an air ambulance – were called to the scene on the Huntly to Inverurie road near Colpy at about 07:15.

However the 76-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford Fiesta involved, a 26-year-old woman, was uninjured.

Police Scotland appealed for witnesses to contact them.
