Premiership Women’s Rugby: Final round Red Roses rivalries

It will be worth getting the popcorn in if both full-backs play under the lights on Friday at Kingsholm.

When Harlequins star Ellie Kildunne was away with England at WXV1 in Canada last October, Emma Sing was tearing up PWR with Gloucester-Hartpury.

The 23-year-old began the season with two tries and six conversions in a player-of-the-match performance against Leicester.

Although reigning champions Gloucester struggled to find their rhythm early on, before hitting form to finish top of the pile once again, Sing has consistently delivered.

She carries, makes metres, beats defenders, breaks the line and enjoys a turnover.

Meanwhile, Kildunne, 25, has continued to improve since being named World Player of the Year in November. She is known for her try-scoring ability but also grafts hard, laying down a marker with a PWR record of 262 metres made in the Big Game 16 win over Leicester in December.

Sing also has a seriously long kick in her armoury and can slot conversions from the halfway line. England would be foolish not to have their best kickers available in a World Cup year, having lost the 2022 final to New Zealand by three points.

Sing is not currently contracted by England but was included in their January training camp and would no doubt love to add to her six caps.
