Dungannon fire: Man, 21, in court over arson attack

Following the fire, eight PSNI officers were treated in hospital for the effects of smoke inhalation but were later discharged.

Police say the fire was started deliberately and endangered the lives of four people in the house and several police officer.

Speaking at court on Thursday, a police officer said they could connect the defendant to the charge.

A defence barrister said he believed there was insufficient evidence to make this connection.

But the judge ruled at this stage she did connect Mr Caetanito to the charges before the court.

The case is due to heard again in Dungannon Courthouse on 26 February.
