Cut-down audio of air traffic controllers appears to have recorded them trying to stop the helicopter and plane crashing.

The American Airlines flight was carrying 60 passengers and four crew when it collided in mid-air with a Black Hawk helicopter near Ronald Reagan National Airport in Washington DC.
