Biker, 44, killed in crash with lorry in Borders

A 44-year-old biker has died after a crash with a lorry in the Scottish Borders.

The incident on the A7 north of Stow at about 11:35 involved a Yamaha motorbike and a white Renault HGV.

Emergency services were called but the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the HGV was not injured.

Police Scotland said inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances and appealed to anyone who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch, external.

Sgt Barry Sommerville said: “I would like to thank members of the public who stopped to assist.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and all those involved.”
