Ex-Aberdeen midfielder Young leaves as Stirling Albion manager

Former Aberdeen and Dunfermline midfielder Darren Young has left his post as Stirling Albion manager following their relegation from League 1.

The Binos suffered a 2-1 aggregate defeat to Dumbarton in the play-off semi-finals after finishing below Annan Athletic on goal difference following a last-day draw with their rivals.

The former Albion Rovers and East Fife manager took over at Stirling Albion in December 2021.

A club statement read: “Assistant manager James Creaney will also depart and we would like to thank Darren and James for the hard work and commitment.

“The process of identifying a new manager will commence immediately.”
