A poem about choir members’ experiences of lockdown is being set to music and performed by the same musicians who inspired it.
Evrah Rose’s poem There’s Just No Time draws on the lockdown stories of the Wrexham and St Asaph-based New Sinfonia orchestra, and the New Voices choir.
It has been set to music composed by Jon Guy, one of the artistic directors of New Sinfonia.
“One thing that really shone through the pandemic is how important art is to people – creating, whether they create themselves or look to art, theatre or music as an escape,” Ms Rose said.
The performance is part of a festival of 10 concerts being held in Wrexham to celebrate the orchestra’s 10th anniversary.
