Village club Knowle FC to make its FA Cup and TV debut

A village club is making its FA Cup and TV debut, with more than 1,000 tickets sold.

West Midlands team Knowle FC is playing in the cup’s first round qualifying for the first time in its 100-year history. The tie, against Worcester City on Saturday, will be streamed on BBC iPlayer.

The most tickets previously sold at the Robins Nest ground was 150, manager Clive Seeley said. “In terms of publicity and money, it’s club changing. There is a lot of excitement around the village and we can’t wait,” he said.

Knowle, a village of up to 11,000 residents, is near Solilhull. Founded in 1926, the men’s team currently play in the United Counties League Premier League South.
