Taxis: Loss of drivers in NI ‘exacerbated by pandemic’

Taxi firms in Northern Ireland have said a shortage of new drivers, combined with people leaving the industry, has left them unable to meet demand.

Official figures show the number of registered taxi drivers in Northern Ireland has fallen by a third in five years.

The pandemic has exacerbated the issue, BBC News NI has been told.
