Portsmouth and Southampton have both received hefty fines after the mass confrontation that occurred in January’s south coast derby.
Both clubs admitted a charge of failing to ensure that their players behaved in an improper and/or provocative way,, external with Saints being handed a £50,000 fine, while Portsmouth must pay £25,000.
With about 20 minutes remaining Flynn Downes and Zak Swanson clashed, external after a heavy challenge by Saints midfielder Downes, triggering a melee involving a number of players.
The second south coast derby of the season ended in a draw. Leo Scienza fired Saints into the lead before Ebou Adams headed in a late leveller.
