The estate of Sinead O’Connor has requested that Donald Trump stop using her music at his campaign rallies. They stated that the late singer viewed the former president as a “biblical devil.”
Trump has been playing O’Connor’s biggest hit, “Nothing Compares 2 U,” during his events while campaigning for the Republican presidential nomination.
In a joint statement, O’Connor’s estate and her record label, Chrysalis, demanded that Trump “desist from using her music immediately.”
O’Connor’s estate are far from the only people to demand Trump not use their music. The Smiths star Johnny Marr raged as Trump used a famous track at a rally.
The statement highlighted that the Irish singer, who passed away last year at the age of 56, lived by a strong moral code defined by honesty, kindness, fairness, and decency towards others.

The statement went on: “It was with outrage therefore that we learned that Donald Trump has been using her iconic performance of Nothing Compares 2 U at his political rallies,”
They stated that O’Connor, who passed away last year, would have been disgusted, hurt, and insulted to have her work misrepresented in this way by someone she referred to as a biblical devil.
As the guardians of her legacy, they demand that Trump and his associates stop using her music immediately.
Known for her fiery and outspoken nature, O’Connor was a critic of the Roman Catholic Church long before allegations of sexual abuse were widely reported, and she was open about her struggles with mental health.
She was found unresponsive at her London home in July and pronounced dead at the scene. A coroner ruled that she died of natural causes.
O’Connor joins a growing list of artists who have objected to Trump using their songs, including Rihanna, Neil Young, Linkin Park, the late Tom Petty and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.
